  • Next, you submit the required documents along with your completed application form

Required Documents

These documents are very important and if any of them are missing, your scholarship application will be in jeopardy:

  • Copy of your ID document
  • Photo of face
  • Copy of your Matric results
  • Minimum of 2 references (people whom you have worked under in an academic setting or in another area of interest). Confidential references can be emailed from the referee to firstrandpgscholarship@firstrand.co.za and clearly marked with your name (or can accompany your application form).

After Submission, what Next?

Applicants will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of the application.

Then, all applications are evaluated by at least three preliminary evaluators from FirstRand to previous winners of the scholarship.

After evaluation, the board drafts a list of worthy applicants to be interviewed in Capetown or Sandton.

Then, four shortlisted candidates are selected for the two education scholarships and are mandated to be available for the final interviews held in Sandton on Wednesday 17th April 2020.

Ten shortlisted candidates are further selected for the FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar and FirstRand Foundation International Postgraduate Scholarships and the FirstRand Oxford African Studies Scholarship and have to be available for the final interviews held in Sandton on Tuesday 21st April 2020.

Finally, the last announcement will be made before the end of June 2020.
